Girl Scouts, Town Officials Unveil All-Inclusive Swing

September 20th, 2018 – Girl Scout Troop 3061 and its leaders, joined with Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter at the unveiling of a new Freedom ADA swing at the Bohemia Recreation Center this week. The new all-inclusive swing was made possible in part through cookie sales by Girl Scout Troop 3061. Islip Town Councilman James O'Connor, Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, Tom Owens, Commissioner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and DPW, Legislator Tom Cilmi, along with Girl Scout leaders and troop members celebrated the unveiling of the swing with a ribbon-cutting. The Girl Scouts also conducted a beautification project, by planting fall flowers under the Bohemia Recreation Park sign.


Islip, England Day Declared with British Flag Raising

September 13th, 2018 – Islip Town paid tribute to its sister city, Islip, Northamptonshire, England with the raising of the British Flag Wednesday in front of Islip Town Hall. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Tom Love, former councilman from the Town of Islip, England who was on hand for the flag raising during a recent visit to Long Island. The Supervisor declared September 12, “Islip England Day” in the Town of Islip.


Islip Supervisor, Town Officials Unveil 3rd Ave. Paving in Brentwood

August 30th, 2018 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Town Councilman James P. O'Connor, DPW and Parks Commissioner Tom Owens and members of his staff, at the Brentwood Recreation Center recently to announce the completion of the paving project along 3rd Avenue in Brentwood. The project is part of an ongoing effort throughout the Town of Islip to improve the Town’s infrastructure and to resurface and beautify its roadways.
