Residents Land Employment Through Job Search “Boot Camp”

December 4th, 2017 – Results from the 2017 Islip Job Search Boot Camp are in, and to date, 13 individuals have secured employment, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter announced today. The Town of Islip’s free Job Search Boot Camp, now in its fourth year, is conducted in partnership with Executive Consultants of New York, and offers participants the skills and the tools necessary for finding and landing a job in today’s challenging business climate.

Toys for Tots Holiday Drive Gets Major Contribution


November 30th, 2017 – Baseline Health of Garden City partnered with the Town of Islip Youth Bureau's Toys for Tots /Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, by donating 100 toys to the Toy Drive, and adopting four Salvation Army Angels this week. The contribution was the first major donation of the 2017 holiday season.

Islip Town Kicks Off Holiday Season with FREE Parking

November 22nd, 2017 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter today announced that parking will be FREE in all of Bay Shore’s parking lots beginning Saturday, November 25th through New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2018. The FREE parking kicks-off on Saturday, November 25th, “Small Business Saturday,” and will apply to all metered parking in Bay Shore, including the back lots.

Town Sets Own Thanksgiving Record with 836 Boxes of Love

November 21st, 2017 – The Town of Islip donated 836 Boxes of Love and 751 turkeys to various agencies throughout the Town, who will then distribute those boxes and turkeys to families in need for Thanksgiving. This year's count is nearly 300 more than last year, and is a new Town record! Islip Food for Hope donated $20,000 to the Town for the purchase of turkeys and holiday essentials. Those funds, coupled with the generous donations of additional turkeys from various departments within the Town, set the new 2017 record.

This “Rock-tober," the Town of Islip “Rock-reation” Department is joining the popular Social Media Scavenger Hunt by painting rocks and hiding them throughout the Town. Our goal is to encourage individuals and families to explore the Town’s vast and beautiful park system! Anyone can be a rock star regardless of age or talent.
