Town Clerk, Olga H. Murray, was born on March 13, 1962. She spent her childhood growing up in Valley Stream, NY. In 1980, Olga left New York to attend Hood College in Frederick, MD. She graduated in 1984, on the Dean’s List with a bachelor’s degree in History and Recreation Management. While in Maryland, Olga was a Swim Coach at Frederick YMCA, a Director of Moral, Welfare and Recreation at Fort Detrick military base, and the Program Director for Frederick County Parks and Recreation.
After graduating from Hood College, she furthered her education by attending Hofstra University School of Law. At Hofstra, she was Associate Editor of the Hofstra Environmental Law Digest. After completing an accelerated program, she received her J.D. in 1989. She was admitted to the New York Bar, as well as the United States District Court, Eastern District.
From 1989 to 1994, Olga was an Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County. In 1995, Olga and her husband, Mark, began their own law firm in the town of Islip. Olga also held the position of Director of Foreign Trade Zone #52 from 2006 until 2008, managing the authority.
Olga has been dedicated to her community. She is affiliated with many organizations, such as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary as 1st VP and Americanism Chairperson, Natasha’s Justice Project, Splashes of Hope, the Suffolk County Bar Association, and Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association.
Olga has resided in Oakdale, Sayville and West Sayville with her family. She married Mark Murray in 1990. Their first of three daughters, Maggie, was born in 1993, shortly followed by Brigid in 1994 and lastly Alanna in 1998. The family has two dogs, Armond and Molly, and one cat, Midnight.
