Supervisor Croci Receives Promotion Ahead of Deployment

Islip, NY - Lieutenant Commander Tom Croci this week was promoted to the rank of Commander in the United States Naval Reserves in a small ceremony among family, friends and the U.S. Navy Sea Cadets. The promotion comes as Croci, Islip Town Supervisor since January 2012, prepares to be mobilized to active duty in mid-July.

U.S. Naval Commander Michael O’Hara swore Croci into his new post in front of the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville. Present at the ceremony were Dan, Maureen and John Murphy, parents and brother of U.S. Navy Seal Lt. Michael Murphy who was killed in action in 2005 and was the recipient of the U.S. Congressional Medial of Honor.

Croci first entered naval service in 1999 and joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 2007.
