Town of Islip Urges Residents to Sign Up for E-Alerts

Islip, NY – Town of Islip officials are urging residents to take advantage of the Islip E-Alert system to stay informed during hurricanes and major emergencies, and also to receive important news in their community. Residents, businesses, and community leaders can all benefit from this system, which can instantaneously pass important information to those who have signed up.

“The E-Alert system has evolved into a necessary tool for all Islip residents,” said Councilman Anthony Senft, liaison to Town Emergency Management. “Having a direct line to Town announcements in an emergency situation can be critical.”

Those who sign up for the service can opt to receive the alerts via email and/or text message. The system has been established in such a way that even if the Town’s communications network compromised, E-Alerts can still be sent from off-site servers. The service is free and residents are urged to sign up for e-alerts from the homepage at www.townofislip-ny.gov.
