James P. O'Connor Sworn in as Islip Town Councilman


January 3rd, 2018 – Incoming Islip Town Councilman James P. O’Connor, was sworn into office Friday, December 29th, in the company of friends, family, Supervisor Angie Carpenter, members of the Islip Town Board and Town officials. Islip Town Clerk Olga Murray administered the Oath of Office, which took place in the Town Board Room at Islip Town Hall. Director of Personnel, Arthur Abbate, led the invocation.

“The Town of Islip is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. I’m excited about my new role, and am looking forward to serving the people of the Town,” said Councilman O’Connor.

“James O’Connor is an experienced councilman, who is committed to the residents of the Town of Islip. I’m looking forward to having him join us on the Islip Town Board, working for the residents of the town,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

Councilman O’Connor is an attorney and 12-year resident of Great River. He served as Councilman in the Town of North Hempstead from 1997-2001. Councilman O’Connor’s first meeting as a sitting board member will take place January 3, 2018.
