Islip Employees, Volunteers Prepare for Thanksgiving Aid

ISLIP-NY (11/20/12) – Islip Supervisor Tom Croci was joined by Councilman Steve Flotteron, Town of Islip employees, and volunteers from throughout the Islip community at the Town’s annual Thanksgiving basket packing day. Every year the Town prepares hundreds of baskets for Islip families that are in distress, to help them enjoy a full Thanksgiving dinner.  This year, with many families suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, the mission of this program is more important than ever.

“Programs like this give us a chance to give direct aid to residents who are most in need of help,” said Supervisor Croci.  “We are proud to give these families the supplies they need to carry on this important American tradition.”

Residents in need of food assistance during this holiday season should contact Long Island Cares at (631) 582-3663, or visit their website at
