12/12/12: A Wedding of the Century? Clerk Murray Prepares for Popular Date

ISLIP, NY---Five years ago on 07/07/07, hundreds of people were married in New York as they believed it to be the "luckiest day of the century."  According to the Islip Town Clerk Olga Murray’s office, where would-be newlyweds apply for their wedding licenses, inquiries for the popular 12/12/12 date are in abundance.

“Dozens of residents have contacted us about tying the knot on December 12th,” Murray stated. “In anticipation of this special date, we have prepared for the influx of would be history makers by supplementing three marriage officiants in addition to myself.”

According to numerology, the number twelve represents completeness, and all things that form a perfect and harmonious unit.  Murray reports that this December wedding ceremonies could very well exceed 2011's numbers as newly married couples look to bring not only luck, but also personal anniversary significance.
