Town Employees Unite to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

October 27th, 2017 – Town employees stood united in pink Friday, in recognition of breast cancer awareness. The Town of Islip “Employee Wear Pink Day,” in support of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, brought men and women alike to the Town Board room donned in pink, to raise awareness of breast and other cancers across the Town. The fundraising event suggested a minimum $5 donation, which enabled employees to wear jeans to work. Collected donations will support the Islip, West Islip and Brentwood/Bay Shore Breast Cancer Coalitions. “We had a terrific turnout, and that is a testament to the commitment of our Town employees, who are ready and willing to do their part to help the community,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. In the meantime, a total of $600 was raised!
