Town Board Votes to Allow Contract to be Signed with Elite Airways

Islip, NY – The Islip Town Board recently voted unanimously to allow the Supervisor’s Office and officials at Long Island MacArthur Airport to enter into a contract with Elite Airways. Based out of Portland, Maine, Elite Airways will begin selling tickets this summer for non-stop flights out of Long Island MacArthur Airport to popular tourist destinations in the northeast and southeast United States.

“We’re excited to begin what we anticipate will be a long partnership with Elite Airways,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “Long Island MacArthur Airport is a treasured asset to the Town of Islip, and so far this year we’ve made true progress at the airport.”

“We now have some real momentum at Long Island MacArthur Airport,” said Councilman John Cochrane. “We’ve added two carriers this year and in May we’ll be unveiling additional attractions that will honor the life and legacy of the airport’s namesake, General Douglas MacArthur, while also driving economic growth in our area.”
