Town of Islip 335th Birthday Kick-Off Celebration 11-29-18 at 4pm at Islip Town Hall

November 27th, 2018 – The Town of Islip will mark its 335th Birthday with a kick-off celebration on Thursday, November 29th, when Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter, along with Town officials, “flip the switch” illuminating the Town Hall Cupola bright blue.


Park Rangers Hailed as Heroes

November 15th, 2018 – Two Town of Islip Park Rangers were praised today for their heroic efforts, after pulling a man from his partially submerged vehicle in an Islip canal this morning. Park Rangers Anthony LaGrasta and John Rivera were patrolling the community and about to end their overnight shift, when they heard the call come over the radio. The rangers quickly responded to the scene, pulled a rope from their trunk and leapt into action. The two rangers entered the frigid canal waters and pulled the driver to safety.


Town Announces Open Call for Central Islip Downtown Revitalization Project Proposals

Community Workshop Set for November 19th

November 9th, 2018 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter today announced an open call for project proposals to the Central Islip Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Downtown Central Islip was selected as the winner of the New York State $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) for the Long Island region in August. New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative seeks to transform communities ripe for development into vibrant neighborhoods where the next generation of New Yorkers will want to live, work and raise a family.
