PSEG Long Island Issues Safety Tips Before Storm

March 1st, 2018 – PSEG Long Island is ready for the approaching storm system that is predicted to bring heavy rain, gusty winds, snow and local flooding to the service area beginning Thursday evening. Employees and contractors are prepared to respond to and restore any outages caused by the storm as quickly and safely as possible. Please see the below tips to maximize safety during the storm.

March 1st, 2018 – Ahead of tonight's potentially strong storm, we urge residents to sign up for the town's E-ALERT System to stay informed and receive important safety information, directly from the Town of Islip officials.

Free Boater Safety Course

February 26th, 2018 – The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs is offering Free Boater Safety Courses beginning in March for individuals 14 years of age and older. Certificates earned in the class are valid for a lifetime, and satisfy recent New York State law requiring all prospective boaters born on or after May 1st, 1996 to posses a boating certificate. Classes will be held between 8am and 4pm on March 8th, April 7th, May 5th, May 19th, and June 2nd, at the Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center, 50 Irish Lane, in East Islip.
