Regional Parks

The Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs has approximately 425 acres of land set aside for its Regional Park System. These multi-use parks provide recreational opportunities for every age group at one common site. Residents can participate in court games, swim in an Olympic size pool, picnic in a shady area, walk or jog a nature trail; be a participant or spectator at an athletic event on one of our ballfields; or visit yesteryear in a restored village. Large groups can reserve tables in our picnic areas at Byron Lake Park, Hidden Pond Park, Brookwood Hall Park and Ronkonkoma Beach Park, applications are accepted as of April 1 for the upcoming season. Call 631 224 5415 for applications. Small groups, up to 25 are invited to use our informal picnic areas located in various community parks at NO FEE on a first come, first served basis. Tables and sometimes barbeques are available at Timberline Park, Bohemia Recreation Center, Islip Grange, West Islip Community Center, Atlantique and several Bay Beaches and Marina Parks.
