Town Launches Safe Driving Campaign

December 28th, 2017 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Kevin Gershowitz, President, Gershow Recycling, alongside the wreck of an automobile the recycling company donated, as a reminder to residents to drive safely during the holiday season. The Town launched its safe driving campaign this month, asking residents to avoid distracted and drunk driving at all times. The automobile, on display outside Town Hall, is a poignant reminder of the tragedies that can occur from drunk and distracted driving. "The holidays are a joyous time of year. I encourage everyone to please stay safe whenever you get behind the wheel of a car. Put down your cell phone, and always use a designated driver," said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
