Islip Town Hosts STOP Day to Help Local Environment

Islip, NY – Islip Town Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen recently met with residents and sanitation employees at the Town’s annual STOP (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) Day, which was held at the Lincoln Avenue Recycling Center. STOP Day is held to give residents a chance to dispose of environmentally harmful products that cannot enter the normal waste stream. After collecting the materials, the Town of Islip can safely process the dangerous waste in a way that protects our environment.
